Champions Mgarr United will be facing Valletta on match day 1 of the Assikura Women’s League 2026/27. Swieqi United will be facing Hibernians and Birkirkara take on San Gwann. The draws were held by Stewart Said – Manager Football Operations at the Malta FA and Alexandra Gatt.
Once again, six teams will be taking part with the league being played over four rounds. Match Day 1 will be played between September 17 and 19.
As from this season, a maximum of five non-homegrown players may be on the Field of Play at any time. In addition to those players, up to two further players may be listed on the Official Match Report Form, provided that they had not attained the age of twenty-one (21) years before January 1.
