The Sliema Wanderers F.C. Youth Nursery recently held one of its regular instructional meetings for its staff coaches.
Mark Marlow – Sliema Wanderers team coach made a presentation on the footballer’s ‘ Learning Training Process’ covering the process from a very early age up to retirement. During this meeting the coaches present actively participated in an exchange of ideas and experiences on this subject.
For this meeting a special guest was Mr. Michael Meakin from the UK who shared with those present his experience in developing young footballers in the UK and remarked that most challenges are common to all and that it is important to share knowledge and experiences.
Mr. Meakin also had the opportunity to observe training sessions for various age groups at the Sliema Nursery and also their training program and remarked that he was sure that the Sliema Nursery is on the right track to continue giving young footballers the opportunity to develop into good footballers.
Claude Chetcuti the Nursery Head Coach and coordinator of the meeting thanked all those present for their input during the meeting and for their interest to keep abreast of any developments in the very important task of coaching and teaching young footballers during their most important formative years.
