The BOV Second Division kicked-off on Saturday with seven matches at three different venues.
At the Centenary Stadium, Zebbug Rangers shared the spoils in a goalless draw with newly-promoted Gudja United while San Gwann defeated the only team which was relegated from Division 1 last season, Msida St. Joseph, 2-0.
The first game at the Charles Abela Stadium in Mosta put against each other two teams who were promoted from Division 3 – Luqa St. Andrew’s and Kirkop United with the former registering a 3-1 win. Mellieha defeated another newly-promoted side, Attard, 2-1.
At the Luxol Stadium, newly-promoted Siggiewi defeated Zurrieq 1-0 while Third Division champions Gharghur beat St. Venera Lightnings 1-0.
The big match between Senglea Athletic and Gzira United at the Centenary Stadium ended in a 5-1 win for the Maroons.
