Mosta earn a point in added time as Floriana throw away two-goal lead

mosta-floriana150503pzcMosta scored twice in added time to earn a point in a 2-2 draw with Floriana after going two goals down.

This draw puts Mosta on level points with Qormi, one ahead of Tarxien but one behind Naxxar Lions. The Blues will be facing rivals Naxxar in their final league match and the outcome of this clash could decide which team finishes tenth and hence face Gzira United in the BOV Premier League Play-Off.

Floriana had a perfect start taking the lead after just 50 seconds thanks to Igor Coronado whose shot from the edge of the area gave goalkeeper Omar Borg no chance.

The Greens doubled the score two minutes from time when Matteo Piciollo concluded a good move on the left flank with a diagonal shot which beat the Mosta custodian.

However Mosta did not give up, reducing the gap through Adrian Borg following a cross from the right by Jonas Rodriguez Ekani on the 93rd minute.

A minute later, the Blues equalised when a cross shot by Udo Fortune was deflected by the goalkeeper and Adrian Borg flicked the ball home.
