Mellieha and Kalkara returned to winning ways as they both registered important wins in direct clashes against relegation from the BOV Second Division at the Centenary Stadium on Friday.

Mellieha defeated Sta. Venera Lightnings 3-0 thanks to a brace by Lydon Micallef on the 7th and 33rd and David Fenech on the 37th.

On the other hand, goals by Beppe Antignolo on the 48th and Emmanuel Mbong on the 74th handed Kalkara a 2-0 win over Zabbar St. Patrick

Fgura lead the way with 47 points, followed by Mgarr on 45, St. George’s 44, Marsaxlokk and Birzebbuga 40, Melita 33, Rabat 31, Kalkara 23, Mellieha 22, Zabbar and Luqa 19, Sta. Venera 16 and Siggiewi 13.
