Second Division side Gharghur and Third Division side Zejtun Corinthians will be contesting the final of the Quick-Keno Second & Third Division Knock-Out after defeating Senglea Athletic and Mellieha respectively.
In the first semi-final, Gharghur obtained a most dramatic 5-3 win over Senglea Athletic.
Ryan Debattista put Gharghur ahead but goals by Bjorn Dalli, Jonathan Buttigieg and Timothy Thomas gave Senglea a 3-1 lead. However Mark Decesare reduced the gap for Gharghur and Shaun Vella levelled matters. The game seemed heading for a draw but a brace by Daniel Borg put Gharghur in the final.
The match was suspended for several minutes after a Senglea official felt ill.
Meanwhile in the other semi-final, Third Division side Zejtun Corinthians beat Mellieha 1-0. Kenneth Abela scored the all-important goal for Edward Darmanin’s side.
The final is scheduled for May 22.
