The Malta Football Association announced that it had reached an agreement with David de Sousa Nascimento and Peter Pullicino who will be forming part of the staff of the MFA Technical Centre.
David de Sousa Nascimento has been appointed Youth Development Officer and Malta Under-19 national coach while Peter Pullicino has been appointed as physical trainer with the national teams.
A former player of Amora FC, Barreirense FC, Vitoria de Setubal FC and Vitória Guimarães in Portugal and Waalwijk FC, Roda FC, Utrecht FC, Roosendal FC and Sparta Rotterdam in the Netherlands, de Sousa Nascimento has a vast experience in coaching. He was part of the coaching staff at the academies of Utrecht and Sparta Nijkerk and was the assistant coach of the AZ Alkmaar and Utrecht FC senior teams. De Sousa Nascimento founded the academy of Den Haag and then worked for Mamelodi Sundowns in South Africa and Chivas Guadalajara in Mexico. he also served as Technical Director with APOEL in Cyprus.
Former Malta national team player Peter Pullicino played for Hibernians, Msida St. Joseph and Marsaxlokk before joining Birkirkara as assistant coach and coach of the Under-19 side four years ago.
Meanwhile the MFA Technical Centre confirmed Sergio Soldano as coach as the Academy of the Malta FA.
