Maroons through to FA Trophy semi-finals

Gzira United will be facing Valletta or Hibernians in the semi-finals of the FA Trophy after defeating Pietà Hotspurs 2-1 after extra-time at the National Stadium on Friday.

The match was resumed from the 89th minute after the original fixture which was played at the Hibernians Stadium on February 23 was abandoned due to a hailstorm.

Andrew Cohen had put the Maroons ahead on the 29th minute with Antonio Macedo equalising four minutes in the second half.

On Friday, no goals were scored in the remaining minute and therefore the game went into extra-time.

Haruna Garba notched the winner on the 113th minute as he headed the ball home off a cross by substitute Roderick Briffa.
