Leaders Zejtun Corinthians were held in a draw by Naxxar Lions in one of the two BOV First Division matches in programme on Friday.

At the Victor Tedesco Stadium, Naxxar managed to halt Zejtun’s winning streak in a 2-2 draw.

Jurgen Debono put Naxxar ahead on the 11th minute but four minutes from the end of the first half, Robeiro Santos do Nascimento levelled matters. Edson Farias Cerqueira restored the lead for Naxxar seven minutes from time but deep into stoppage time, Christian Grech rescured a point for Zejtun.

On the other hand, at the Luxol Stadium, St. Andrews defeated St. George’s 6-1.

Dylan Caruana put the Cospicua side ahead on the 12th minute but Joseph Farrugia converted a penalty to level matters on the 31st minute. Luke Anthony Borg made it 2-1 three minutes later. and Kemar Reid added another just before half-time. Kemar Reid scored a fourth on the hour with Nicholas Bradshaw and Mattia Veselji increasing the lead further on the 64th and 85th respectively.

Zejtun lead the way with 28 points, followed by Lija on 25, St. Andrews 24, Naxxar 22, Qrendi 20, Pembroke 19, Pieta’ 17, Zebbug 15, Swieqi 14, Mqabba and St. George’s 13, Qormi 12, Vittoriosa 9 and Fgura 8.
