Luxol prepare ahead of UEFA Futsal Champions League commitments

Maltese Champions Luxol St Andrews Futsal Club are currently in their final preparations ahead of the UEFA Futsal Champions League Preliminary Round Group A mini-tournament in programme at the Sport Hall “26-ti April” in Gevgelija, North Macedonia.

On Saturday 21, Luxol face Welsh side Cefn Druids Futsal Club, the following day they rub shoulders with Dolphins Ashdod from Israel, before the final group match on Tuesday 24 against the hosts’ Macedonian Champions KMF Proekt.

The squad led by coach Gabriel Dobre is currently in its final preparations before flying to Macedonia in their quest to once again secure Euro qualification to the Main Round.

Over the past few days, the boys underwent some intense training, within the group also some notable comebacks like Norvegian top keeper Kenneth Rakvaag and his counterpart in goal, Malta international Clint Mifsud, the latter back after his brief spell with Valletta. Melvin Borg also joined the ranks from Valletta together with another newcomer, former Malta international in football, Dale Camilleri also joining the Futsal Champions.

All these will definitely instil more power to a side already strong with players encompassing the likes of Mark Zammit, Celino Alves, Everton Veve, and Emil Andrei all possessing the right attributes to compete at this level.
