Kercem Ajax moved second in the BOV Gozo Football League First Division as they defeated Oratory Youths on Monday.
Luiz Henrique Santana Motta put Kercem ahead on the 39th, Wesley Simeao dos Santos doubled the score on the 63rd and Daniel Cassar made it 3-0 on the 79th. Pablo Vinicius de Moraes Ferreira pulled one back when he converted a penalty seven minutes from time.
In another match on Sunday, Sannat Lions and Xewkija Tigers shared the spoils in a goalless draw.
Meanwhile in the BOV Gozo Football League Second Division, Qala Saints moved three points clear as they defeated Zebbug Rovers 3-2.
Goals by Matias Camilleri Psaila and Daniel Mesa Pineros put Zebbug ahead within the first three minutes but Qala hit back with goals by Ebube Ralph Okpokwu on the 8th and Brandon Said one minute later. Okpokwu notched the winner nine minutes in the second half.
Munxar Falcons joined Zebbug in second place thanks to a 4-2 win over Xaghra United. Matthias Cordina put Xaghra ahead on the 6th minute but Ayesller Carvalho equalised on the 16th. Mario Azzopardi turned the score in Munxar’s favour on the 8th and three minutes later, Carvalho converted a penalty to make it 3-1. Michael Tabone increased the lead on the 53rd with Xaghra reducing the gap two minutes from time thanks to an own goal.
In another match, St. Lawrence Spurs and Gharb Rangers shared the spoils in 2-2 draw. Christian Dingli put Gharb ahead on the 15th and although Christopher Cauchi equalised on the 28th, Gabriel Debrincat made it 2-1 six minutes later. However three minutes in the second half, Luke Cilia restored equilibrium.
