Mosta secured the services of thirty-seven year old goalkeeper Ini Etim Akpan.

The Nigerian-born goalkeeper moved to Malta in 2005 to join Kercem Ajax. In summer 2010, he moved to Sliema Wanderers and the following season, joined Lija Athletic. Akpan spent season 2012/13 on loan with Birkirkara, making his move a permanent one in summer 2013. After four years with the Stripes, he joined Floriana where he spent another four years.

The Blues had earlier released goalkeeper Marko Jovicic and Mehdi Hetemaj.
