Santa Lucia FC have appointed Vincenzo Potenza as their coach. He replaces Pablo Cortes Sanchez who had joined the club last summer.

After avoiding relegation thanks to Pembroke Athleta’s decision to reject promotion to the Premier League, Santa Lucia have collected just five points from the first nine matches and are currently third from bottom.

Vincenzo Potenza moved to Malta in 2018 to lead Senglea Athletic before joining Floriana in summer 2019. The Italian coach led the Greens through an impressive Premier League campaign to end on top of the table before football was suspended due to the COVID-19. Potenza and Floriana parted ways in December 2020 but he was re-appointed as coach of the Greens in February 2021. Last season, Potenza served as coach of Challenge League side Marsa.
