Slovakian coaching experience for Mdina Knights Technical Team

Six members of the Mdina Knights FC Technical Team, led by Head Coach David Attard, have recently returned from a very successful 3-day coaching camp at the MOL Football Academy, the official academy of FC DAC 1904 in the Slovakian town of Dunajská Streda.

The group took part in workshops on training methodology and performance analysis, led by Youth Director and Coach Mr Krisztián Németh and Head of Academy Mr Remco ten Hoopen, and watched a number of training sessions at U15, U17 and U19 levels and the first team coached by Mr Peter Hyballa. They were invited to watch the U19s take on another local club in a friendly match, and also took in the Spartak Trnava  vs FC DAC 1904 match of the Slovak Super Liga.

Dunajská Streda is situated in southern Slovakia, very close to the Hungarian border, and is very strongly supported by the Hungarian minority of Slovakia. The modern facilities, parts of which are still under- construction, are among the best in Slovakia. The club itself has around 300 players and 28 pro coaches in total.

All participants agreed that the visit has provided invaluable insights into the workings of an overseas professional club, and has greatly enhanced their knowledge of football training tactics. The lessons learnt and experience gained will no doubt be of benefit to the Club for the remaining matches of the season.
