The Mosta FC youth nursery organised another 2 seminars for its coaching staff, as instructed by the Malta Football Association. Once again the instructional meetings were followed also by various other coaches coming from different nurseries who asked permission to participate.
During the first session, all coaches were asked to analyze the match between Valletta and Mosta, from the Under 19 league and record data as instructed beforehand on given forms. Later on during the week, coaches were asked to select one theme they felt was wrong during the match and build a training session as to improve it prior to their next match. Coaches could pair up or work individually and had to target the sessions to the age group they coach (not necessarily Under 19).
During the second session, coaches are to illustrate and share their training session/s and give a presentation to the other participants. They briefly described what they had noticed, why they think it is important and how they would go about it during the coming week/s. All sessions were added on to a DVD which contained various other coaching material. A short DVD on Speed, Agility and Quickness, and another on skills training were distributed to all participants.
Later on, Head Coach Ramon Zammit and Mosta FC Senior Coach Oliver Spiteri, (both UEFA ‘A’) delivered a practical session to all participats at the nursery premises. The main objective of the session was the importance of progression in the coaches` sessions after a sound and interesting warm-up.
A fourth meeting for coaches is targeted for June.
