Msida St. Joseph were promoted to Division 1 after beating Gharghur 3-0 in one of the BOV Second Division matches in programme on Saturday.

The Saints moved second on 49 points, ten behind champions Zebbug Rangers who lost 0-3 to Fgura United. St. George’s beat St. Patrick 3-0 to stay in fourth place.

San Gwann maintained hopes of promotion thanks to a 5-1 win over Siggiewi. They lie two points behind St. George’s.

In other matches, Pembroke Athleta defeated Mellieha 1-0 while St. Venera Lightnings and Kirkop United shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw.

The league comes to an end next week with Zurrieq facing Siggiewi, St. George’s meeting Gharghur and San Gwann facing Msida. Zurrieq need a point and St. George’s a win should San Gwann beat Msida.
