Two new foreigners for Balzan

Balzan secured the services of two new strikers – Nigerian Godwin Mensha and Montenegrin Aleksandar Vujacic.

Twenty-five year old Mensha played for Talavera CF, UD Socuellamos and SD Compostela in Spain. On the other hand, twenty-five year old Vujacic joins the club from Buducnost Podgorica of Montenegro.

The club had earlier signed Italian goalkeeper Valerio Senatore from Floriana and Malta international midfielder Ryan Fenech from Valletta.

Meanwhile on the eve of the start of the 2015/2016 UEFA Europa League campaign , Her Excellency Marie Louise Coleiro Preca, The President of Malta, hosted a reception at the Presidential Palace for the Balzan FC squad and members of the Balzan Committee.

The President of Malta congratulated the club on its achievement of a place in Europe for the first time in its 80 year history and wished them luck in their Europa League tie vs Zeljeznicar. She also encouraged the club to continue to develop its Academy as she is a strong believer on sport being very beneficial for the physical and mental development of young people.

In return, Mr Anton Tagliaferro on behalf of Balzan FC thanked the President of Malta for her kind words of encouragement and for hosting the club at the Palace. He presented the President with a donation for the Community Chest Fund and also presented her with a Balzan FC shirt with Her Excellency’s initials on the front of the shirt.
