After appointing Manuele Blasi as their new coach, Hamrun Spartans secured the services of goalkeeper Jean Claude Debattista and three Italian players.
Jean Claude Debattista is a product of the club and also made his senior team debut in 2013. However he spent the last four years elsewhere, playing for Melita, Marsaxlokk and eventually Swieqi United for the past two years. Debattista signed a one year deal with the Spartans, with an option for another two.
The club has also secured the services of twenty-six year old central midfielder Nicola Leone, twenty-eight year old forward Umberto Varriale and twenty-seven year old striker Leonardo Nanni.
Leonardo Nanni is a product of Cesena but later played for ASD Astrea, Grosseto and SFF Atletico. Umberto Varriale started his career at Napoli but later played for Avellino, Aversa Normanna, Acireale, Cavese, Sambenedettese, Torrecuso, Isola Liri, Gragnano, Pircerno, Torres, Gladiator, Corigliano, Cervinara and Termoli. On the other hand, Nicola Leone played for Gladiator, Azanese, Fondi, Battipagliese, Gragnano, Campbasso, Caronnese, Turris and Frattese.
Meanwhile the rest of the technical staff will be made up of assistant coach Fabrizio Antonini, physical trainer Luca Piscitelli and sports director Antonio Governucci who replaced Gaetano Farruggio.
