Marsa registered an impressive 8-0 win over Birzebbuga St. Peter’s in one of the three BOV Second Division matches in programme at the Victor Tedesco Stadium on Sunday.

Nicholas Zammit put Marsa ahead on the 15th minute and Paul Lapira scored twice on the 25th and 38th to put Marsa three goals ahead but by the end of the first half, Nicholas Zammit and Damon Grima scored another two goals on the 40th and 43rd respectively. Erik Pietribiasi scored the sixth goal on the 62nd, Ryan Gafa the seventh on the 74th and Paul Lapira added another on the 81st.

A goal by Larens Vella on the 72nd minute handed Rabat Ajax a narrow win over Mgarr United.

In another match, Melita defeated Zabbar St. Patrick 2-0 courtesy of Michael Cachia on the 79th minute and Isaac Zammit deep into stoppage time.

Marsa lead the way with 22 points, followed by Mgarr and San Gwann on 19, Marsaxlokk and Rabat on 18, Melita 17, Kalkara and Zurrieq 14, Birzebbuga 11, Mellieha 9, Xghajra 8, Zabbar 7, Luqa 5.
