St. Andrews and Naxxar Lions made it to the Round of 32 of the FA Trophy after they both registered wins in matches from the Preliminary Round at the Centenary Stadium on Thursday.

A goal on the 18th minute by Sebastian Cassar Torregiani handed St. Andrews a narrow win over National Amateur League side Zurrieq.

On the other hand, Naxxar Lions defeated Qrendi 2-0 thanks to goals by Farid Zuniga five minutes in the second half and Erikys da Silva Ferreira three minutes in added time.

St. Andrews and Naxxar join Mqabba and Pembroke Athleta in the Round of 32 along with Qormi, Sannat Lions, Xaghra United and Swieqi United who received a bye and the sixteen Premier League clubs. The remaining teams will emerge from the other Preliminary Round matches which will be played between Thursday and December 27.
