Zebbug Rangers earned another precious point in the battle against relegation as they held Marsaxlokk in a 1-1 draw at the Tony Bezzina Stadium on Sunday.
The Rangers therefore move three points clear of Santa Lucia and six ahead of Pieta’ Hotspurs, staying five points behind the Southseasiders.
It took Marsaxlokk less than two minutes to take the lead thanks to Peter Xuereb who headed the ball home off a Leandro Aguirre corner.
However three minutes in the second half, Zebbug levelled matters when they were awarded a penalty after Stefan Jankovic was brought down inside the area and Charles Lokoli Ngoy duly converted.
Four minutes in added time, Marsaxlokk ended in ten men as Edafe Christopher Uzeh was sent off.
