Hamrun Spartans secured the services of twenty five year old Liberian international forward Emmanuel Ernest.

A product of Christ Ambassador Sporting Academy, Emmanuel had spells with Sporting Rosiori, FC Rapid 1923, Ripensia Timisoara and ACSC FC Argeș in Romania, Hamitköy SHSK and Cetinkaya TSK in Northern Cyprus, Al-Orooba FC in the UAE, FC Aarau in Switzerland, KF Tirana in Albania and USM Alger in Algeria.

The Spartans had earlier confirmed the departure of Henry Bonello and Joseph Mbong apart from Mouad El Fanis, Blessing Eleke, Ivan Inzoudine and Michele Carboni.
