Birkirkara and Hibernians will be contesting the final of the Assikura Women’s Knock-Out after both emerged as winners in the respective semi-finals at the Centenary Stadium on Friday.
In the first semi-final, Hibernians needed extra-time to beat Swieqi United 1-0. Following a goalless draw at the end of the ninety minutes, the game went into extra-time and Kayleigh Chetcuti scored the all-important goal eight minutes in the second half of extra-time.
On the other hand, in the other semi-final, an own goal on the 74th minute handed champions Birkirkara a narrow win over Valletta.
The final is scheduled for Saturday 27 at the Centenary Stadium at 18:00.
