Balzan and Mosta shared the spoils in a goalless draw at the Tony Bezzina Stadium on Sunday.
Balzan are now eighth on 31 points, one ahead of Gzira United, three ahead of Mosta and five ahead of Santa Lucia but Gzira and Santa Lucia play later on Sunday.
The two teams had their fair share of scoring opportunities, especially during the first half with the best opportunity being for Balzan when they were awarded a penalty four minutes from the end of the first half after Jake Vassallo was adjudged to having floored George Blackwood inside the area but the Australian forward’s effort from the penalty spot was parried by David Udoh Akpan.
