Sta. Venera Lightnings and Kirkop United registered fine wins in the BOV Third Division to go top in Sections A and B respectively.

In Section A on Friday, Sta. Venera defeated Swieqi United 4-1 while Santa Lucia registered the sixth win in eight matches as they beat Gudja United 2-1.

The Lightnings lead the way with 24 points, followed by Gudja on 23, Siggiewi 22, Santa Lucia 20, Attard 17 and Mdina 16. Gudja and Santa Lucia played a game more than the other teams.

In Section B, Kirkop United beat Kalkara 5-1 while Sirens surprised Ghaxaq beating them 3-1.

Kirkop lead the way with 21 points, follwed by Gharghur on 19, Ghaxaq 15, Luqa 14, Marsa and Fgura 13, Sirens 12, Pembroke 11, Gozo 10 and Kalkara 4.
