Jude Amin Utulu has been included in FIFA’s Elite Category of Beach Soccer Referees in Europe and short-listed for next year’s World Cup Finals, after successfully completing an intensive 2-day course in Jesolo in the Italian province of Veneto, which is also the venue for World Cup 2015 Qualifiers being played between the 5th and the 14th of September.
The announcement was made on Thursday by FIFA’s Jesus Rubio Cano ahead of the qualifying matches commencing this morning, whereby Europe’s 24 best teams will compete against each for four World Cup berths, plus the one granted to Portugal as the host country for the World Cup in 2015.
A delighted Jude Amin Utulu commented that “reaching Europe’s Top 16 Beach Soccer Referees’ List has enhanced my motivation to do well in these qualifiers and be selected for next year’s World Cup Finals in Portugal…thanks to all those who have supported me in one way or another, I shall do my very best to be a good ambassador of Malta.”
On Friday, Jude Amin Utulu was involved as a referee in the England vs Greece and Moldova vs Italy matches.
