Champions Hibernians moved eleven points clear in the BOV Women’s First Division after defeating Birkirkara 3-2 at the Charles Abela Stadium. For the Stripes, this was the third league defeat against Hibernians this season, apart from the loss in the BOV Women’s Super Cup.
Martina Borg put the Paolites ahead on the 19th minute but Raina Giusti equalised nine minutes in the second half. Hibs regained the lead on the 64th thanks to Jade Flask and although Stephania Farrugia levelled matters on the 76th but one minute from time, Martina Borg notched the winner.
In other matches, Mgarr United defeated Raiders (Luxol) 1-0 while Kirkop United beat Pembroke Athleta 3-1.
Meanwhile in the BOV Women’s Second Division, leaders Gozo dropped their first points in a 1-1 draw with Hamrun Spartans.
Sliema Wanderers moved third thanks to a 4-1 win over Kirkop United Team B while Mosta and Tarxien Rainbows shared the spoils in a goalless draw.
