Six Premier League players were handed a one-match ban by the MFA Disciplinary Commissioner following the weekend’s matches.
Elkin Serrano Valero (Balzan), Mauricio Ezequiel Villa and Juninho Cabral (Floriana), Marcelo Dias (Hibs), Onyekachi Okonkwo (Mosta) and Kyle O’Brien (Pembroke) therefore miss the first matches from the third round.
Villa and Cabral will be missing the game against Naxxar, Serrano and O’Brien are ruled out of the clash Balzan vs Pembroke, Dias the game against Qormi and Okonkwo the match against Mosta.
Mosta kit-manager Robert Frendo was banned for one match.
In Division 1, Omar Rababah (Zebbug) was banned for three matches, Wail Rizgalla (Pietà) for two while Ian Zammit (Gzira), Clint Farrugia (Mqabba), Jason Gorskie and Mead Mifsud (Pietà), Pablo Cesar Doffo (Senglea), Carmelo Farrugia (St. George’s), Roderick Spiteri and Raimi Bakare (Zebbug) were banned for one match. Gzira kit-manager John Muscat was banned for three matches.
In Division 2, Andrea Cutajar (Birzebbuga), Reuben Vella (Gharghur), Joseph Chetcuti (Kirkop), John Debattista (Marsa), David Camilleri (Mgarr), Daniel Hili (Msida), Joseph Mercieca and Nathan Caruana (Siggiewi), Dylan Pirotta (Sirens) and Julio Cesar Sousa Martins da Silva (Zabbar) were handed a one-match ban. Kirkop coach Albert Busuttil was banned for two matches.
Gabriel Buttigieg (Attard), Karl Cilia (Dingli), Elton Dimech (Ghaxaq), Paul Paris (Marsaxlokk) and Gilbert Camilleri (Mdina) were banned for one match in Division 3.
