Fourteen Premier League players suspended

Fourteen Premier League players were handed a one-match ban by the MFA Disciplinary Commissioner following the weekend’s matches.

The players are Ryan Scicluna (Birkirkara), Dylan Grima (Floriana), Zachary Scerri and Ndubuisi Emmanuel Okoye (Gzira), Tiago Souza da Silveira and Triston Caruana (Hamrun), Ousmane Sidibe (Lija), Angus Buhagiar (Naxxar), Ivan Edgardo Paz (Senglea), Mark Scerri and Ricardo Calixto Correa Duarte (Sliema), Sean Cipriott and Ebiabowei Baker (Tarxien) and Joseph Zerafa (Valletta).

Sidibe and Paz are ruled out of Senglea vs Lija; Scerri, Okoye, Cipriott and Baker will skip Gzira-Tarxien; Tiago Indigo and Caruana will miss the game against St. Andrews; Scerri and Correa the game against Balzan; Buhagiar and Zerafa are ruled out of Naxxar vs Valletta; Ryan Scicluna the clash with Mosta and Dylan Grima the game against Hibernians.

Meanwhile George Attard (Senglea) and Gerald Ellul (Valletta) were banned for one match.

In Division 1, Melvin Busuttil (Marsa), Carl Magro (Zabbar) and Miguel Attard (Zebbug) were suspended for one match while Zebbug team manager Ian Francalanza was banned for four matches.

Kurt Tabone (St. George’s) was handed a three match ban in Division 2 while Owen Tabone (Attard), Christopher Cutajar and Ronnie Celeste (Birzebbuga), Mattia Mentosa (St. George’s) and Luke Scicluna (Swieqi) were banned for one match.

In Division 3, Clayton Micallef (Mtarfa) and Gilmore Buttigieg (Ta’ Xbiex) were both suspended for one match.
