Giovanni Tedesco ordered to pay Hamrun Spartans just €5,000

Gzira United coach Giovanni Tedesco was ordered to pay Hamrun Spartans €5,000 by the MFA Players & Coaches Complaints Board after he resigned from the post of coach of Hamrun.

The Spartans were claiming €15,000 – equivalent to half the salary of the Coach for the duration of the contract; €70,000 – representing the difference between the monthly salary which had been agreed with the Coach and the salary now due by the club to new coach Manuele Blasi who was appointed to replace him and €15,000 as additional damages for the unilateral breach of the contract by the coach.

However the Board ruled that Tedesco had to pay €5,000 representing one-half of the full wage of ten thousand euro (€10,000) to which he would have become entitled if he had continued in the service of the Club for the season 2019/2020.
