Two of the three teams who were relegated from the BOV Premier League last season – Pietà Hotspurs and St. Andrews had a winning start in the BOV First Division as the latter kicked-off at the Victor Tedesco Stadium on Friday.
In the first match, a goal by Nicholas Pisani nine minutes in the second half gave Pietà Hotspurs a narrow win over Mqabba.
On the other hand, St. Andrews defeated Fgura United 3-0 courtesy of an own goal on the 13th, Luke Anthony Borg on the 52nd and Kemar Reid on the 75th.
