Nine Premier League players suspended

Nine Premier League players were suspended by the MFA Disiciplinary Commissioner following the weekend’s matches.

Nenad Sljivic (Balzan) and Justin Micallef (Senglea) were handed a three-match ban while Ivan Bozovic (Balzan), Matthew Guillaumier (Birkirkara), Gianmarco Conti and Jefferson de Assis (Gzira), Nicola Leone (Hamrun), Elvis Sakyi (Senglea) and Steve Borg (Valletta) were suspended for one match.

Sljivic is ruled out of the next three games for Balzan against Senglea, Mosta and Hibernians. Bozovic will also miss the clash with Senglea. Also ruled out of the game between Senglea and Balzan are Justin Micallef and Elvis Sakyi. Micallef will also skip the games against Valletta and Gzira.

Gzira will be without Jefferson and Conti for the match against Tarxien, Guillaumier will miss the clash with Gudja, Leone is ruled out of the game against Santa Lucia while Steve Borg will miss the game against Sirens.

Sirens FC team manager Gilbert Camilleri was banned for four matches, Balzan team manager Peter Cipriott and Gzira United team manager Marlon Galea were suspended for two matches.

Meanwhile in the FA Trophy, Karl Azzopardi (Gharghur) and James Borg (Zurrieq) were suspended for one match while Julien Iwueke (Zejtun) was suspended for three matches.
