Xewkija Tigers make it four wins in a row

Xewkija Tigers maintained their perfect record in the BOV Gozo Football League First Division thanks to a 2-1 win over Oratory Youths.

Despite having a player sent off on the 6th minute and Rafael Rodrigues Ledesma converting a penalty to put Oratory ahead a minute later, Rodney Buttigieg equalised on the 64th. Five minutes later, the Tigers had another player sent off but Rodney Buttigieg notched the winner five minutes from time.

Sannat Lions registered their second win as they beat SK Victoria Wanderers. Joseph Zammit put the Lions ahead on the 14th and although Gabriel Cardona equalised on the 23rd, Brandon Said notched the winner on the 46th.

Nadur Youngsters beat Kercem Ajax 4-0 thanks to a penalties by Ederson Bruno Domingos on the 6th and Jorge Santos Silva on the 50th and goals by Stefan Cassar on the 64th and Jorge Santos Silva on the 72nd.

Two penalties by Igor Nedeljkovic on the 15th and 91st and a goal by Johnny Camilleri on the 61st handed Ghajnsielem a 3-0 win over Xaghra United in another match.

Meanwhile in the BOV Gozo Football League Second Division, Qala Saints moved three points clear thanks to a dramati 3-1 win over Zebbug Rovers. Bartomeu Perello Palou put Zebbug ahead on the 53rd but Charlon Farrugia equalised on the 78th, Ebube Ralph Okpokwu made it 2-1 on the 90th and three minutes in added time, Charlon Farrugia converted a penalty to seal the issue.

Gharb Rangers were held in a 1-1 draw by Munxar Falcons, goals by Luke Attard on the 6th minute for Gharb and Joseph Grima on the 13th for Munxar with Attard hitting high from the penalty spot mid-way through the second half.

However, Gharb returned to winning ways as they defeated St. Lawrence Spurs 4-1. Ruben Zammit put Gharb ahead on the 39th but Mohammed Senussi Telessi equalised on the 53rd. However Charles Hili restored the lead on the 69th with Milos Stojanovic extending the lead thanks to a penalty on the 78th and Hili adding another on the 92nd.

St. Lawrence remain the only team without any points as they had earlier lost 1-3 to Zebbug. Ryan Saliba and Bartomeu Perello Palou put the Rovers ahead thanks to goals on the 15th and 17th. Mohammed Senussi Telessi reduced the gap on the 39th but Perello Palou added another on the 80th.
