During the first general meeting held on Wednesday at the Tony Bezzina Stadium in honour of the late Mr. Tony Bezzina who served as president of the Premier Division Standing Committee for the past 20 years, the Malta Professional Clubs Association was officially formed.

The Presidents of all Premier League Clubs unanimously agreed and approved the statute that will be governing the MPFCA.

At the same meeting Robert Micallef, the President of Santa Lucia FC was appointed as the first Chairman of the association.

The board of directors of the association will be meeting in the coming days to start working on a strategic plan for the benefit of the Maltese football clubs and the good of local football in general.
