Gabriel Dobre to serve as interim futsal national team head coach

An already popular figure in the local Futsal scene, Gabriel Dobre has been engaged as the new interim Futsal National Team Head Coach.

‘Gabri’ as he’s better known in Futsal circles is 43 years old and from Romania, in his playing career he represented his country as a Futsal player at the senior level, also he possesses ample experience in the local scene both as a player with Balzan and as a coach.

His interim role with the Futsal National Team encompasses the development and further raising of the standards of our Futsal National Team, moreover overseeing the progress at the Youth level, basically operating in the same line of application and work ethic equal to his predecessor Zeljko Anicic who previously executed a magnificent job during his time in charge.

In this dual role, coach Gabriel Dobre will still assume his responsibilities as Head Coach for local Futsal Champions Luxol St. Andrews, wherein the season ahead, shall be his sixth at the helm of the team he managed superbly over recent years, also pursuing successfully the coveted objective of UEFA Champions League Elite Round Qualification, challenging with the best sixteen Futsal teams on the continent.

Malta FA Vice President overseeing Futsal matters Dr. Matthew Paris, Head of Futsal within the Association Mr. Mark Marlow, and the rest of Malta FA are pleased with this appointment and would like to augur Gabriel Dobre in this new task ahead as the new interim Malta Futsal Team Head Coach.
