Qrendi re-joined Mtarfa on top Group A of the IZIBET Amateur League as they defeated Pembroke Athleta 5-3 at the Victor Tedesco Stadium on Monday.
Weverton Gomes put Pembroke ahead on the 8th but Brandon Bray scored twice on the 32nd and 35th with Aud-Gustine James Obaje making it 3-1 on the 37th. Weverton reduced the gap for Pembroke on the 64th but Bray scored another two goals on the 72nd and 77th to extend the lead. Weverton Gomes scored a third goal for Pembroke two minutes from time.
Mtarfa and Qrendi lead the way with 25 points, followed by Birzebbuga on 18, Rabat and Xghajra 17, Pembroke 15, Sta. Venera 14, Mqabba 12, Mellieha 11, Kalkara 9, Siggiewi 7 and Mdina 1.
