The recent FIFA Badges Presentation 2024 saw seventeen match officials honoured for their dedication and skills in football refereeing.

This year’s ceremony was not just a celebration but a testament to Malta FA’s refereeing long-term strategy initiated in 2020, aimed at elevating the quality and quantity of match officiating.

This year, Malta celebrated a record-breaking achievement with 30 international appointments, underscoring the officials’ unparalleled quality and dedication.

The officials who received the FIFA Badge are:

FIFA Referees: Ishmael Barbara, Matthew De Gabriele, Philip Farrugia, Trustin Farrugia Cann, and newly woman FIFA Referee Jo-Anna Vassallo.

FIFA Assistant Referees: Alan Camilleri, James Muscat, Luke Portelli, Mitchell Scerri, Duncan Spencer, Jurgen Spiteri, Duncan Sultana, and Roberto Vella.

FIFA Futsal Referees: Stephen Vella and Andrea Naudi.

FIFA Beach Soccer Referees: Stefania Bonnici and Luca Formosa.
