Melita celebrated the BOV Challenge League championship with a comfortable 5-1 win over Pieta’ Hotspurs at the Centenary Stadium on Saturday.
Andre Carlos Penha da Costa put Melita ahead on the 6th minute. Matthew Debattista doubled the score eleven minutes in the second half and Jean Pierre Attard increased the lead ten minutes later. Isaac Cutajar reduced the gap on the 71st but nine minutes from time, Benjamin Cassar converted a penalty and Matthew Portelli sealed the issue with a fifth goal six minutes later.
After the game, Melita were presented with the cup by MFA General Secretary Dr Angelo Chetcuti.
