Heavy defeat for Under-17 side

The Malta Under-17 side lost 7-0 to Hungary in the first match of the Under-17 International Tournament which is being held in Hungary.

The hosts scored six goals during the first half, adding another after the break.

Nemeth put the hosts ahead on the 5th minute, Barnabas doubled the score on 12 minutes and Zoster increased the lead three minutes later. Barnabas scored again on 20, 22 and 33 minutes. In the second half, Zoster scored the seventh goal on 56 minutes.

MALTA: Matthew Grech, Beppe Jaccarini, Kurt Zammit, Karl Micallef, Jurgen Sultana, Dunstan Vella (62′ Leon Zammit), Axl Xuereb (50′ Glenn Tabone), Jurgen Degabriele (70′ Neil Pace Cocks), James Brincat (55′ Ryan Cutajar), Juan Corbalan), Antoine Attard (17′ Andrew Cassar).

The team led by Branko Nisevic and his assistant Charles Scerri will be in action once again on Thursday, facing Israel.
