A vote on the new format for the BOV Premier League as from season 2014/15 is set to be taken in March as discussions on the issue are set to start.
Addressing the Council during a meeting on Thursday, MFA CEO Bjorn Vassallo said round-table discussions with Premier League and First Division clubs will start soon. Discussions on the matter will also be held with the media and with supporters.
Vassallo said that there were mainly four options with some formats looking more attractive than others. He said the general feeling was that the current format where points were being halved at the end of the first phase had to be scrapped. The MFA CEO said the key objective was to make the league more interesting.
Draft regulations will be presented to the Council in February with the vote being taken in March.
