FXDD will once again be the main sponsor of the national teams after the foreign exchange trading company and the Malta Football Association signed a new two-year Platinum Sponsorship agreement for 2014 and 2015. The agreement was signed during a press conference at the Grand Hotel Excelsior on Wednesday.
MFA President Norman Darmanin Demajo said that at this time of the year, the association seeks to renew or sign new agreements with commercial partners and sponsors in view of the forthcoming qualifiers – the EURO 2016 qualifiers, the draws for which will be held on February 23. He said that this agreement with FXDD extends a fruitful chapter that has benefitted the national teams in various ways.
Darmanin Demajo said right from the start, he was impressed with the way FXDD dealed with the MFA. He said the association always found full cooperation from FXDD, an excellent relationship which went beyond the contract.
The MFA President said that apart from the usual commitments for the various national teams, the association had a big challenge in the UEFA Under-17 Championship which will be hosted in Malta in May.
Darmanin Demajo said the image of the association had improved and this led to more opportunities for commercial partnerships and sponsorships.
FXDD Finance and Operations Manager Fiona Soler said that thanks to this agreement, the company was acknowledging the national teams from the senior sides to the youths and women. She said that through this sponsorship, FXDD was giving something back to the Maltese community.
Also present for the press conference were MFA Treasurer Ivan Mizzi and FXDD Compliance Officer Michael Schembri.
