The Malta Football Players Association announced that following direct consultation with professional players, it has sent a new proposal to the MFA General Secretary to be discussed during the next social dialogue meeting.
The MFPA said that the proposal includes potential ‘wage deferrals’ and/or ‘wage reductions’ which in its opinion “is reasonable, proportionate and in good faith, whilst safeguarding the employees’ dignity.”
On Thursday, the MFPA had issued another statement in which it stressed that clubs could not unilaterally decide on contractual matters after reports that players were being told that an agreement had been reached and that full-time players would be paid the monthly wage figures established by the Government.
