Victoria Hotspurs win Second Division Challenge Cup

Victoria Hotspurs won the Gozo FA Second Division Challenge Cup after defeating Sannat Lions 3-1 after extra-time on Tuesday.

Wellington Valentim De Souza missed a penalty for the Hotspurs on the 22nd minute and to make matters worse four minutes in the second half, Boubacar Kanta put the Lions ahead. However the Hotspurs were quick to equalise through Daniel Farrugia a minute later.

The game went into extra-time and Lucas Farrugia made it 2-1 for the Hotspurs after just one minute. James Tabone was sent off for the Hotspurs and a few minutes later, Boubacar Kanta was sent off for the Lions before Lucas Farrugia scored another goal to seal the issue.

Victoria Hotspurs and Sannat Lions had reached the final after placing in the top two spots in the league phase with the Hotspurs obtaining 11 points and Sannat 10 followed by Zebbug Rovers on 9, Munxar Falcons 7, St. Lawrence Spurs and Gharb Rangers 3.
