Fixtures released for First, Second, Third Division, Youths and Women's League

The fixtures of all competitions organised by the Malta Football Association were released on Wednesday.

The BOV First Division League will kick-off on Friday 9th September with two matches at the Centenary Stadium – St. Patrick vs Zejtun and Dingli vs St. Andrews. On Saturday 10, Birzebbuga face Melita and Vittoriosa take on Lija. St. George’s face Rabat in the first match on Sunday 11 while Pietà meet Naxxar in the second game.

The Victor Tedesco Stadium and the Luxol Stadium will be the other two venues for First Division football.

The BOV Second Division League gets underway on Friday 16th September with the game between Senglea Athletic and Gzira United at the Centenary Stadium, kick-off at 19:00.

Six matches will then be played on Saturday 17: Zebbug vs Gudja and Msida vs San Gwann at the Centenary Stadium, Luqa vs Kirkop and Attard vs Mellieha at the Charles Abela Stadium and Zurrieq vs Siggiewi and Gharghur vs Sta. Venera at the Luxol Stadium.

Another venue to be used during the season is the Sirens Stadium.

The BOV Third Division League gets underway on Sunday 18th September with six matches: Mtarfa vs Pembroke and Ghaxaq vs Sta. Lucia at the Centenary Stadium, Fgura vs Swieqi and Mdina vs Kalkara at the Charles Abela Stadium and Sirens vs Mgarr and Xghajra vs Marsaskala at the Luxol Stadium. The last game from day one will be played on Monday 19 at the Centenary Stadium between Qrendi and Marsa.

Other venues to be used for Division 3 are the Sirens Stadium and the Rabat Ajax Ground.

Youth League Section A kicks-off on Wednesday 14th September with Floriana vs Pietà and Birkirkara vs St. Andrews at the Centenary Stadium. Attard vs Qormi and Hibernians vs St. Patrick will be played on Thursday 15 at the Centenary Stadium while the other two teams – Valletta and Melita will be in action on Thursday 22 at the Luxol Stadium.

The ten teams in the Youth League Section B will be in action on Monday 5th September as Balzan take on Naxxar and Mosta face Msida at the Centenary Stadium, San Gwann take on Rabat at the Luxol Stadium, Marsaxlokk host Sliema at the Marsaxlokk Ground and Mgarr host Hamrun at the Mgarr Ground.

The first five matches from Section C will also be played on Monday 5th September: Tarxien vs Zurrieq at the Ghaxaq Ground, Sta. Venera vs Gudja at the Luxol Stadium, Siggiewi vs Pembroke at the Siggiewi Ground and two matches at the Zebbug Ground – Lija vs Senglea and Zebbug vs Mellieha.

Twelve of the seventeen teams in Section D will be in action on Monday 5th September: Marsa vs Dingli, Zejtun vs Luqa, Sirens vs Mtarfa, Kirkop vs Mqabba, Vittoriosa vs Birzebbuga and Kalkara vs Sta. Lucia. Four teams will play their first game on Thursday 8: Fgura vs Xghajra and St. George’s vs Ghaxaq while Gzira meet Vittoriosa in their first match on Monday 12.

The Women’s First Division League kicks-off on Sunday 18th September with the match Gozo vs Birkirkara at the Sannat Ground. On Tuesday 20, champions Mosta take on Raiders (Luxol) while Pembroke Athleta face Marsa. Hibernians will be in action on Tuesday 27 as they take on Pembroke.

Ten of the eleven teams in the Women’s Second Division will play their first game on Tuesday 20th September: Mgarr vs Kirkop, Naxxar vs Melita, Zejtun vs Sta. Venera, Tarxien vs Sta. Lucia, Hamrun vs Lija / Iklin. Zurrieq play their first game against Tarxien on Tuesday 27.
